Sterile Processing Technician
Location

Contract | Days | 5×8-Hour Shifts | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Perform sterile processing functions including decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment
- Maintain compliance with infection control standards and sterile processing best practices
- Support surgical services by ensuring timely availability of properly processed instrumentation
- Float to nearby sister facilities as needed per assignment requirements
- Complete required facility modules prior to start and during orientation
- Commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of sterile processing experience required
- Valid state license or compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Must submit all RTO and scheduling requests upfront at time of submittal — post-offer RTO requests may not be considered
- Facility does not accept background hits
- 2 professional references required, covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years (Charge RNs and Leads are acceptable)
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a standard traveler; local candidates may be considered under separate terms
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a surgical services or acute care environment
- Familiarity with instrument tracking systems and sterilization documentation
- Flexibility to float between facilities within the same health system
