Job Title

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Location

Syracuse, NY | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | Every other weekend and some holidays required

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient care functions in an acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision, including greeting patients, directing to exam rooms, and preparing for exams
• Take and record vital signs, measure and record patient progress, and assist during exams including setting up trays for injections
• Place IVs and perform phlebotomy as required
• Administer injections and assist with procedures such as paps and other clinical interventions
• Implement nursing care activities under the direction of the primary or associate nurse as outlined in the nursing care plan; observe and report patient responses to treatments
• Maintain exam rooms and all clinical areas; participate in nursing unit management activities

Required Qualifications

• Current New York State LPN license required
• Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain/renew) required
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Emergency Department (ED) experience required
• Demonstrated ability to place IVs and perform phlebotomy
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an inpatient setting strongly preferred
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems strongly desired
