Job Title

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Asheville, NC | Progressive Care Unit

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit with a 4:1 patient ratio (5:1 when stretched)
• Perform neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace management
• Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, lumbar drains, and feeding tube placement
• Administer blood transfusions and monitor patients on telemetry
• Operate unit equipment including IV pumps, Skylift, and patient lifts; document in Cerner EMR
• Float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Neuro and trauma care experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Strong neuro and trauma care background with familiarity in spinal care protocols
• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Team-oriented, patient-focused approach to care
