Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Days and Nights | 3×12-Hour Shifts | Day: 7:00am–7:30pm / Night: 7:00pm–7:30am

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit, delivering safe and effective nursing interventions
• Monitor and interpret ECG rhythms and respond appropriately to telemetry changes
• May be expected to float to other units within the same patient population as operationally needed
• Participate in orientation assessments including ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate; an acceptable score on both is required
• Rotate holiday coverage, with an expectation of working at least every other holiday
• Complete annual hands-on competency requirements and facility-assigned modules as directed

Required Qualifications

• Active, permanent Ohio RN license or compact state license — must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing
• Active BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross — must be in hand at time of submission
• Active ACLS certification — must be in hand at time of submission
• Active NIHSS certification — must be in hand at time of submission
• One professional reference required from a manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty from an assignment worked within the past 12 months — co-worker references are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Permanent experience within a single location preferred, though combined experience across locations may be considered
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and ECG rhythm interpretation in an acute care setting
• Experience working in a large academic or high-volume hospital environment
