Job Title

Travel RN – Labor & Delivery (Night Shift)

Smyrna, TN | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 4 weekend shifts/month

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to laboring patients in a 9-bed L&D unit with 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and a 3-bed OBED
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:2 and support patient choice, including promotion of vaginal birth opportunities aligned with patient preference
• Perform unit procedures including OR circulating, IUPC, FSE, MgSO4 administration, postpartum hemorrhage management (JADA system), and nitrous oxide administration
• Document accurately using CPN and Meditech electronic documentation systems
• Collaborate within a laborist team model alongside 24/7 in-house midwives, dedicated CRNA, OB on call, and NNP available for high-risk deliveries
• Float to mother/baby or outside department to task as needed per unit floating policy

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Fetal monitoring certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Familiarity with Spinning Babies techniques
• STABLE program certification or training
• Experience with couplet care and breastfeeding support practices
• Prior experience in a laborist or team-based OB care model
