Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist (CVOR)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift, Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM | 40 Guaranteed Hours per Week | On-call requirements include 1 night per week, 1 weekend per month, and 1 backup shift per week with a 30-minute response time; every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare operative suites for cardiovascular and thoracic surgical cases, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available via case cart review
• Scrub surgical cases across a variety of specialties, with a primary focus on cardiac and thoracic procedures, including robotic-assisted thoracic surgery
• Support a high-volume caseload of approximately 50–60 cardiothoracic cases per month across a team of three cardiothoracic surgeons
• Efficiently turn over operating rooms between multiple procedures throughout the day
• Respond to on-call assignments within 30 minutes, ready and present in the OR
• Perform downtime tasks as needed, including pulling case carts, cleaning, and other unit support duties

Required Qualifications

• Active CST license required; NBSTSA or NCCT certification accepted
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Proficiency with Epic electronic charting system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with robotic-assisted thoracic surgical procedures
• Demonstrated ability to float to multiple facility locations within a health system
• Strong adaptability, resilience, and ability to manage change in a fast-paced surgical environment
