Job Title

Cardiac Surgery RN First Assistant (Cardiac Experience Required)

Key Responsibilities

• Work under the direction and supervision of the attending physician to provide aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions
• Support the surgeon in carrying out safe operations with optimal results for the patient
• Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to facilitate the needs of the surgical patient during the perioperative period
• Primarily 2nd assist within cardiac surgical cases
• Cover regional call to support the Cardiac Surgery program across the health system

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• RN First Assistant (RNFA) certification or equivalent training/credentials required
• Cardiac surgical experience required
• Ability to participate in regional call coverage

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a 2nd assist role within cardiac surgical cases
• Familiarity with perioperative nursing practices across a multi-site health system
