Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, incorporating the nursing process, critical thinking, and consideration of patient culture, age, and developmental level
- Implement individualized patient care therapies and procedures within scope of practice, including recognition and communication of changes in patient condition
- Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including coordination with case management and execution of discharge teaching
- Provide patient and family-centered education, explaining procedures, treatments, and processes in a clear and supportive manner
- Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of care provided by other team members
- Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care team members
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous nursing experience in an ICU or similar acute care setting
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and clinical computer applications
