Job Title
Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Utica, NY | Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Block scheduling may be available but is not guaranteed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide intermediate care nursing for adult patients (18+) across a 64-bed unit, including 15 designated Neuro beds
- Manage patients presenting with common diagnoses including Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, Respiratory (COPD), DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV Stepdown, and post-operative conditions
- Operate and monitor specialty equipment including temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo systems
- Care for patients on chronic ventilators (unable to wean), coordinating with Respiratory Therapy as needed
- Float to other units as required to support staffing needs
- Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License (verified via NURSYS report; all RN licenses must be included)
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in IMCU/PCU
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Completed skills checklist matching the IMC/PCU specialty

Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in an IMCU or PCU setting
- Experience managing patients on chronic ventilators in coordination with Respiratory Therapy
- Familiarity with neurological patient populations and neuro-specific monitoring
