Certified Nursing Assistant / Care Technician

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Onsite | Days | Variable shift structure: ED and Medical/Surgical units — expected 6, 12-hour shifts per two-week period; Pediatrics Float Pool — expected 4, 8-hour shifts and 4, 12-hour shifts per two-week period; every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform direct and indirect nursing care activities including obtaining vital signs, toileting, bathing, and feeding patients based on patient assignment
- Serve as a safety companion for patients identified as a safety risk
- Demonstrate knowledge of normal growth and development and respond to changing patient needs
- Work collaboratively with all members of the health care team; problem-solve and maintain a safe work environment
- Obtain, record, exchange, and convey patient information accurately and effectively
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold positive public relations and ethical decision-making
Required Qualifications
- Current New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum of one year of patient care experience
- Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance
- Acute care experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in an Emergency Department or Medical/Surgical setting
- Experience in a Pediatrics or Float Pool environment
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced, team-based care settings
