CNA – Nursing Assistant / Care Technician

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | Pediatrics Float Pool | Every other weekend required | Expected schedule of 4 eight-hour shifts and 4 twelve-hour shifts per two-week period
Key Responsibilities
- Perform direct and indirect nursing care activities including obtaining vital signs, toileting, bathing, and feeding patients based on patient assignment
- Serve as a safety companion for patients identified as a safety risk
- Demonstrate knowledge of normal growth and development and respond to changing patient needs within a pediatric setting
- Collaborate with all members of the health care team, problem-solve, and maintain a safe work environment
- Obtain, record, exchange, and convey patient information accurately and effectively
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold positive public relations and ethical decision-making
Required Qualifications
- Current New York State CNA Certification required
- Current BLS Certification required
- Minimum of one year of patient care experience
- Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance
- Acute Care experience required
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a pediatric care setting
- Experience working in a float pool environment
- Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development
