Job Title
Registered Nurse – Orthopedic / Telemetry
Location
San Antonio, TX | Acute Care – Orthopedic Unit
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Rotating Weekends | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an orthopedic unit, including pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing total knee and hip replacements
- Perform and assist with procedures including incision and drainage (I&D) and wound care management
- Monitor and assess telemetry patients, responding appropriately to changes in condition
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic health records system
- Float to other units as needed in accordance with facility floating policy
- Adhere to rotating weekend and holiday scheduling requirements, including coverage for two major holidays
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses are not accepted)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2+ years of Medical-Surgical RN experience
- Basic wound care experience
- Willingness to float to other units per facility policy
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Orthopedic nursing experience
- Prior experience with Meditech documentation system
