Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests and accurately report results to physicians for use in the diagnosis, treatment, and/or monitoring of diseases
- Assist in the general operation of the laboratory, including quality assurance programs
- Perform maintenance and upkeep of laboratory equipment
- Function as a general supervisor for waived, moderate, and high complexity testing upon successful completion of probationary period
- Apply independent judgment and professional education in the execution of laboratory responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Medical Technology or a related area of specialty
- Certification/registration or certification/registry eligibility as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is required
- National certification through AMT or ASCP is required
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology
- Ability to work independently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience performing waived, moderate, and/or high complexity laboratory testing
- Experience working within a quality assurance or compliance framework in a clinical laboratory setting
