Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 10-Hour Shifts | 1–2 nights of call per week; 3 weekend call shifts (24-hour, Saturday/Sunday) per 10-week period | 30-minute call response time required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care within an Orthopedic Services Operating Room setting
- Respond to on-call assignments within a 30-minute response time
- Participate in weekend call coverage as scheduled (Saturday/Sunday, 24-hour shifts)
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe and effective patient care throughout operative procedures
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Operating Room nursing
- Strong Orthopedic surgical background required
- Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; local candidates will not be considered for this position
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience with Cerner electronic health records system
- Familiarity with orthopedic surgical procedures and instrumentation
