Registered Nurse – Psychiatric / Behavioral Health

Contract | Travel | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Expected 36 hours/week | 6-Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 106-bed adult behavioral health unit, including Level 1, Voluntary, Detox, and general Behavioral Health populations
- Utilize facility equipment including Code Cart, Pyxis, EKG, Vitals Machine, and Glucometer, and document care using the Wellsky EHR system
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:14, delivering safe and effective psychiatric nursing care in a fast-paced environment
- Apply de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention skills to manage behavioral health situations; CPI/Handle With Care (HWC) certification required
- Float as needed between the patient floor and the admissions department
- Participate in weekly Monday orientation as scheduled
Required Qualifications
- Active RN License (ADN or higher)
- BLS certification – must be American Heart Association (AHA)
- CPI / Handle With Care (HWC) certification required prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health nursing setting
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel consideration
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working with adult psychiatric populations including Detox, Voluntary, and Level 1 designations
- Familiarity with Wellsky or similar behavioral health EHR platforms
- Strong de-escalation and crisis intervention skills in a high-acuity environment
- Flexible team player comfortable working in a fast-paced behavioral health setting
