Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Transplant)

Key Responsibilities
- Perform scrub and/or circulating duties in a high-volume transplant operating room, with primary focus on liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant cases
- Provide direct intraoperative care for organ implantation procedures — experience placing organs into the recipient patient is required, not solely organ harvesting
- Utilize MISONIX/CUSA equipment proficiently during surgical cases
- Cover additional OR cases (non-transplant) when liver/transplant cases are not scheduled
- Participate in on-call coverage, including approximately one on-call shift per week and two 12-hour weekend shifts per month
- Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs as required
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (pending license considered)
- Minimum 2 years of direct liver/transplant OR RN experience — must be reflected on skills checklist at time of submission
- Strong hands-on experience with liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures
- AHA or American Red Cross ACLS and BLS certifications required at time of submission
- NIHSS certification required prior to start date
- Must be nicotine-free; negative 10-panel drug screen including cotinine (nicotine) required — no exceptions
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of application; requests added after submission may not be approved
- Local candidates are welcome and accepted at the same rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience charting in EPIC
- Background in a teaching hospital or high-acuity acute care environment
- Familiarity with EKG interpretation and pharmacology testing (required during orientation)
