Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice for Labor and Delivery
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching as well as the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and/or response to treatment
- Ensure a safe environment for patients and visitors, utilizing the chain of command when necessary to support patient well-being
- Provide appropriate care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of California
- Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within scope of practice
- Strong clinical judgment with the ability to respond promptly to changes in patient condition
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience
- Experience caring for patients during antepartum and postpartum periods
- Familiarity with newborn care protocols and mother-baby standards
