Surgical Assistant – First Assist

Key Responsibilities
- Perform first assistant or surgical assistant duties during operative procedures
- Support the surgical team throughout all phases of the procedure, including pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-operative care
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and sterile technique protocols
- Collaborate with surgeons and clinical staff to ensure efficient and safe surgical outcomes
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or comparable education and training
- Current certification as a First Assistant (CFA), Surgical Assistant (CSA), or Assistant in Surgery from one of the following accrediting bodies: NBSTSA, NSAA, ABSA, or NASC
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the Healthcare Professional level
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a First Assistant or Surgical Assistant role
