Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient care throughout the surgical process, serving as a key advocate for patient safety at all times
- Ensure the operating room is properly prepared with the necessary equipment and supplies prior to procedures
- Verify patient identity and planned procedure in accordance with safety protocols
- Maintain a safe and sterile environment throughout surgical cases
- Monitor the patient during surgery and accurately document care provided
- Collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure procedures run efficiently; on-call obligation is required
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum of 3 years of operating room experience as a circulator
- Demonstrated ability to maintain sterile technique and uphold surgical safety standards
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience across multiple surgical service lines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills within a fast-paced surgical environment
- Familiarity with surgical documentation systems and electronic health records
