Key Responsibilities
- Gather pertinent data from patient charts and collaborate with other care providers and physicians as necessary
- Independently assess all assigned patient types, including orthopedic, balance, deconditioned, and pain-related cases in an outpatient setting
- Recognize additional patient needs during evaluation and exercise sound clinical judgment when requesting, scheduling, or performing additional testing
- Interpret assessment results and formulate relevant, measurable, realistic, and attainable therapy goals
- Reassess patient progress regularly in accordance with department and regulatory policy, or as clinical need arises
- Identify appropriate equipment and discuss options with patients and families
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy required
- Active Texas Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT) license, or compact license, required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required — American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Minimum of 1 year of physical therapy experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Doctorate-level degree (DPT) preferred
- Outpatient therapy experience strongly preferred
- Experience treating orthopedic, balance, deconditioned, and pain management patient populations
