Job Title
Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3 x 12-hour shifts per week | Every other weekend required | Holiday coverage based on unit needs (Christmas Eve or Day and New Year’s Eve or Day)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Telemetry unit, monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms throughout each shift
- Manage patients with surgical, bariatric, gynecological, urological, and orthopedic diagnoses, as well as medical diagnoses including cellulitis, back pain, and kidney stones
- Administer and monitor Heparin drips, TPN, and PCAs in accordance with facility protocols
- Float to all acute care units as needed based on staffing requirements
- Document all patient care activities accurately using Epic EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active Kansas RN license or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience within the last 18 months in a hospital setting
- Experience in General Surgery, Bariatric, Gynecological, Urology, and Orthopedics required
- Experience with medical diagnoses including cellulitis, back pain, and kidney stones required
- Demonstrated ability to manage Heparin drips, TPN, and PCAs, and to measure and interpret telemetry rhythms
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience working with Epic EMR
- Experience in a high-acuity telemetry or step-down unit environment
- Familiarity with Smart Square scheduling application
