Job Title
Registered Nurse – PCU (IMC / Stepdown)

Contract (13 Weeks) | Night Shift | Expected 36–48 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide progressive care nursing for a patient population that includes elective neurosurgery, intracranial hemorrhage, DKA, altered mental status, sepsis, cancer, and trauma patients on a 24-bed stepdown unit
- Perform and document strong neurological assessments and manage complex patient conditions using Cerner EMR
- Manage IV drips including amiodarone, dobutamine, heparin-based weight drips, Lasix, and insulin; oversee chest tube and drain care
- Provide NG tube placement and care, tube feeds, TPN, wound vac care, and dressing changes; support patients on BiPap and Airvo
- Float to same-level-of-care stepdown units as needed, with notification provided at the beginning of shift
- Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation requirements (every 3rd weekend; every other holiday)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ohio RN license or active compact RN license
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
- Candidates residing within 30 miles of the facility may be subject to a reduced bill rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with neurosurgical, trauma, or general surgery patient populations
- Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitoring systems
- Prior stepdown or PCU nursing experience in an acute care setting
- Comfort with high-acuity skill sets including BiPap management, chest tube care, and complex drip titration
