Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Contract | Night Shift | Expected 36–48 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility and accountability for an assigned group of patients throughout a designated shift
- Prescribe and implement nursing care based on the nursing process, consistent with the medical plan of care and input from patients and significant others
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate delivery of patient care across applicable age groups
- Incorporate patient teaching and discharge planning into the overall plan of care
- Delegate aspects of patient care delivery to other nursing staff based on clinical competence and legal scope of practice
- Demonstrate competency in IV sedation and maintain required department-specific certifications
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required at time of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required at time of hire for Emergency Department
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required
- Minimum two years of recent RN experience; Emergency Department experience required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system required
- Demonstrated competency in dysrhythmia interpretation required during orientation
- Demonstrated competency in IV sedation required within 6 months of hire
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Prior acute care facility experience
- Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) or Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification
