Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Contract | Night Shift | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility and accountability for a group of patients throughout a designated shift, delivering care consistent with the medical plan of care
- Prescribe and implement nursing care based on the nursing process, incorporating input from patients and significant others
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care across all applicable age groups
- Incorporate patient teaching and discharge planning into the overall plan of care
- Delegate aspects of patient care delivery to other nursing staff based on clinical competence and legal scope of practice
- Demonstrate competency in IV Sedation within 6 months of hire; obtain TNCC certification within 1 year of hire
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required at time of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required at time of hire
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required
- Minimum two years of recent acute care or Emergency Department nursing experience
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) or Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification
- Experience in a high-volume emergency department setting
