Registered Nurse – NICU

Contract | Days | 4×12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients ranging from less than 23 weeks gestational age through full-term newborns in a mixed-acuity NICU setting
- Manage Level 4 NICU acuity patients; must be proficient with IV vasopressors, High Frequency Ventilation, High Flow NC, Respiratory Distress Syndrome, and ventilator management
- Maintain typical patient ratios of 1:3, with occasional 1:4 ratios during surge periods
- Float within scope to Pediatric ICU, Level II NICU, and Mother-Baby Unit as needed to meet facility demands
- Complete required weekend shifts (12 shifts per contract) and fulfill holiday bundle obligations as assigned
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (pending licensure may be considered at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of Level 3 NICU experience required
- BCLS certification required (RQI certifications not accepted)
- NRP certification required (RQI certifications not accepted)
- Must be willing and able to care for Level 4 NICU acuity patients and float to Pediatric ICU
- Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; a non-local driver’s license is required on file
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience is a plus
- Familiarity with Cerner charting platform
- Experience caring for neonates across a broad gestational age range in a high-acuity, mixed-acuity environment
