Job Title
Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Utica, NY | Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)

Contract | Days | 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM | Block scheduling may be available | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide intermediate care nursing for adult patients (18+) across a 64-bed unit, including 15 designated Neuro beds
- Manage patients presenting with common diagnoses including Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, Respiratory (COPD), DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV Stepdown, and post-operative cases
- Operate and monitor specialty equipment including temporary pacers, chest tubes, A-lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo systems
- Support care of patients on chronic ventilators in coordination with Respiratory Therapy
- Float to other units as needed
- Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License (verified via NURSYS report required at time of submission)
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in IMCU/PCU setting
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Navy Blue scrubs required
- Local candidates (within 75 miles) are welcome to apply
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience
- Experience with temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, A-lines, and BiPAP management
- Background in Neuro, Cardiac, or Trauma intermediate care settings
