Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing
- Evaluate health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data
- Provide health teaching, health counseling, and supportive or restorative therapy and treatment directly to patients or through delegation and supervision of others
- Execute delegated medical functions, review and monitor therapy and treatment plans, and refer patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment
- Document care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
- May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications, and may be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN minimum)
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- ACLS, NRP, or PALS as appropriate for unit or service
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience as a Registered Nurse
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Specialty certification appropriate for unit or service
