Job Title
Respiratory Therapist – Pediatrics (RRT)
Location
Charleston, SC | Teaching Hospital / Level 1 Trauma
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 3×12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory therapy services in a pediatric setting, with primary focus on NICU Level IV care
- Deliver patient care across day shifts with rotating weekend and holiday coverage
- Document patient care and clinical data using Epic electronic health records
- Participate in emergency response duties as required, including potential assignment to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
- Float within scope of practice to meet unit needs based on experience level
Required Qualifications
- RRT certification through the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
- Active South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (SC RCP) license must be in hand at time of start — pending licensure will not be accepted for clearance to begin
- BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- NICU Level IV experience required; Pediatric ICU experience may be considered
- Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Epic electronic health records charting system
- Background in both NICU and Pediatric ICU environments
- Familiarity with Magnet-designated, teaching hospital environments
