Job Title
Travel – Medical Laboratory Scientist
Location
Salt Lake City, UT | Acute Care
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 7 on / 7 off | Every other weekend required | On-call not required; may be available if desired
Key Responsibilities
- Perform medical laboratory testing across multiple disciplines including Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Blood Bank, and some Microbiology
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation including Siemens Chemistry, System Hematology, IL Top 350 for Coagulation, Beckman Coulter IRIS, Ortho Vision for Blood Bank, BioFire, and Sophia analyzers
- Document and manage patient results accurately using EPIC EMR
- Assist with specimen processing as needed to support departmental coverage
- Float to specimen processing area as required
Required Qualifications
- MLS or MLT certification from ASCP or equivalent
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
- Verifiable schooling and certification required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an MLS or MLT
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Greater than 5 years of experience as an MLS or MLT
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation listed above (excluding MicroScan)
- Experience working in a Blood Bank and/or Hematology setting
