Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract (13 Weeks) | Days | 4×10-hour shifts, varied start times (earliest 6:00 AM) | On-call required: approximately 8 shifts per month, rotating weekends and holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical or procedural sedation in the PACU setting
- Assist with pre-operative patient preparation and assessment
- Monitor and manage patient vitals, airway, pain levels, and recovery progress in accordance with clinical protocols
- Participate in on-call rotation covering weekends and holidays as required
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe and timely patient transitions
Required Qualifications
- Active Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of PACU and Pre-Op experience
- New graduates are not eligible for this position
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Familiarity with varied surgical specialties and anesthesia recovery protocols
