Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily NICU operations including staffing, compliance, and regulatory adherence within a Level III NICU environment
- Collaborate with the education department on unit-specific training and competency initiatives
- Provide direct patient care in the NICU as needed, primarily caring for Level II neonates including growers and feeders as young as 24–25 weeks
- Serve in a supervisory capacity, arriving before the assigned shift begins and remaining present for the majority of the shift
- On-call availability is required as part of this role
- Document patient care using Meditech (WOW workstations); administer medications via Pyxis; manage IV therapy using Solaris pumps
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
- BLS certification issued through the American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a NICU setting
- Minimum 2 years of Charge Nurse or Lead Nurse experience
- Minimum 1 year of Supervisor experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Recent hands-on patient care experience in a NICU environment
- Familiarity with Meditech electronic health records system
- Experience working in a teaching hospital or trauma center setting
