Registered Nurse – Psychiatric / Behavioral Health

Contract | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Expected 36 hours/week | 8-Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct psychiatric nursing care to an adult behavioral health patient population, including Level 1, Voluntary, Detox, and Behavioral Health cases
- Utilize facility equipment including Code Cart, Pyxis, EKG, Vitals Machine, and Glucometer; document care using Wellsky EHR
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:14, delivering safe and effective care in a fast-paced inpatient behavioral health environment
- Apply de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention skills to manage and support patients in a behavioral health setting
- Float as needed between the patient floor and the admissions department
- Adhere to facility dress code: Royal Blue or darker blue scrubs required
Required Qualifications
- Active RN License (ADN or higher accepted)
- BLS certification required – must be American Heart Association (AHA)
- CPI or Handle With Care (HWC) certification required prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel consideration
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Wellsky or similar EHR platforms
- Familiarity with behavioral health admissions processes
- Strong de-escalation and crisis intervention skills in an inpatient psychiatric environment
- Team-oriented, flexible, and comfortable working in a high-acuity, fast-paced setting
