Registered Nurse – Emergency Room
Location
Columbia, SC | Acute Care Hospital
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 3×12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Includes weekends and holidays as needed | Onsite | No on-call required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting within an acute care hospital
- Utilize Epic electronic health records for all clinical documentation and charting
- Respond to a diverse patient population with varying acuity levels, applying emergency nursing protocols and best practices
- May be required to float between like campuses based on census and staffing needs
- Participate in emergency response team assignments during hurricane season (June through November), as required by facility policy
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required
- Active South Carolina RN License or Compact License must be in hand prior to start date
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be considered at the standard rate; candidates within 60 miles may be considered at a reduced rate
- Previous permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the facility system for a minimum of 1 year before returning as a traveler
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a high-volume or Level I/II trauma emergency department
- Familiarity with floating between multiple campuses or units
- Strong adaptability and ability to manage high patient acuity with minimal orientation
