Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data
- Provide nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and standards of practice, incorporating physician-prescribed medical plans
- Complete verification of the Safe Surgery checklist in accordance with service excellence standards
- Perform all circulating duties with efficiency, including prepping the operating room, positioning and preparing the patient on the operating table, and utilizing appropriate sterile field protocols
- Delegate, supervise, and evaluate team member activities while executing directives and interventions in urgent or emergent situations
- Serve as the communication liaison between the patient’s family and members of the operating team; participate in assigned call as scheduled
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Operating Room experience required
- Proficiency with computer programs utilized in patient care delivery
- Ability to perform circulating duties and work within or outside the sterile field as assigned
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with supply and equipment control and maintenance in a surgical setting
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth through goal setting and continuing education
