Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)

Contract | 36 or 48 hours per week | Days/Evenings/Nights Rotating & Every Other Weekend | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care within a 65-bed, pod-based Emergency Department serving all patient populations, including a dedicated pediatric pod and an Acute Mental Health area
- Perform general ED nursing skills including patient assessment, documentation, IV placement, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, and splinting
- Maintain a 1:4 clinician-to-patient ratio in a high-volume environment with approximately 230 visits per day
- Chart and document using EPIC – ASAP EMR system
- Float as needed to the ED Observation wing (16 beds) and the Acute Mental Health Unit (ED Psych Observation)
- Participate in rotating shifts (7a–7p, 11a–11p, and 7p–7a) when requested; rotation frequency is low for day rotate positions
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- AHA Certified BLS required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification strongly preferred
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification strongly preferred
- Experience working in a high-volume, pod-based Emergency Department setting
- Familiarity with EPIC – ASAP charting system
