Job Title

Sterile Processing Technician – Surgical Services

Rocky Mount, NC

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | PM Shift (1:30 PM – 10:00 PM), Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts | Expected 40 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with established protocols
• Support operating room teams by ensuring timely availability of sterile supplies and instrumentation
• Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes and equipment tracking
• Adhere to infection control standards and regulatory compliance requirements throughout all sterile processing activities
• Collaborate with surgical and nursing staff to prioritize instrument needs and turnaround times

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in a surgical or acute care setting
• Knowledge of sterilization methods, decontamination procedures, and instrument handling best practices
• Ability to work PM shift hours (1:30 PM – 10:00 PM), Monday through Friday
• Must maintain a permanent residence at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Certification in sterile processing (e.g., CRCST or equivalent)
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation specific to an operating room environment
