Contract | Nights | 3×12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every other weekend and some holidays required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Level I Emergency Department setting with a patient ratio of 6:1
- Care for admitted patients boarding in the ED while awaiting inpatient bed availability, in designated areas or hallway spaces as needed
- Float to acute care areas within scope of practice to meet facility needs when ED boarding census is low
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR — prior Cerner experience is required for this role
- Participate in onsite orientation modules as directed by the Nurse Educator
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license — Tennessee license or multi-state compact license must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses are not accepted
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers may be considered based on previous clinical experience
- ACLS certification required
- Prior Cerner EMR experience required
- Acute Care and/or Med-Surg Telemetry experience required
- 2 professional references required (may be pending at time of submission)
- Local candidates are welcome and accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a high-volume or Level I Emergency Department environment
- Comfort with boarding and hallway patient care scenarios
- Flexibility with schedule, including block scheduling availability
