Patient Access Representative

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (5x8s)
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the patient admission and discharge process, including collection of patient information and financial data
- Perform clerical tasks such as answering high-volume phone calls and responding to patient questions
- Maintain and update patient files and records to ensure accuracy
- Schedule and coordinate outpatient appointments, confirming appointments and providing patients with appropriate instructions
- Enter status changes and registration information into the electronic health record system
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned within established guidelines and procedures
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two years of recent experience in a patient access, registration, or related administrative healthcare role
- Proficiency in EPIC electronic health record system required
- Strong customer service skills with demonstrated ability to handle high-volume phone interactions
- Ability to work within defined parameters, follow established procedures, and receive daily instructions
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Associate’s degree or technical degree, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Experience scheduling radiology appointments
- Familiarity with verifying insurance and collecting patient financial responsibility
