Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a MedSurg/PCU setting within a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, with the ability to flex into other departments as needed
- Identify patient and family education needs and deliver instruction using appropriate teaching methods
- Implement and maintain patient safety measures including fall prevention, restraint protocols, and safe equipment operation in PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas
- Maintain complete, accurate, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, physician orders, and patient responses throughout the assigned shift
- Report critical lab values to the physician in a timely manner per policy and communicate effectively with all departments during and between shifts
- Maintain and restock emergency carts, room supplies, and general unit supplies; adhere to infection control and standard precaution procedures at all times
Required Qualifications
- Active Washington State RN License required
- Demonstrated experience in MedSurg, PCU, Telemetry, or Stepdown nursing
- Ability and willingness to flex across departments as needed
- Availability to work through the upcoming holiday season with minimal time-off requests
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Critical Access Hospital or rural healthcare setting
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and PCU-level patient acuity
- Strong skills in 24-hour order verification and change-of-shift reporting
