Job Title
ED Boarder Registered Nurse – Travel Contract
Location
Boston, MA | Acute Care
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Onsite | Rotating or Straight Nights | 3×12 or 4×12 shifts available | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to ED boarder patients awaiting inpatient placement
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, responding promptly to changes in clinical status
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate safe and effective patient transitions
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with facility protocols
- Maintain a safe patient environment while managing multiple patients in a fast-paced ED setting
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be valid in the state of Massachusetts or through a Compact license
- BLS certification required
- Prior experience in an Emergency Department or Medical-Surgical setting
- Ability to work rotating day/night shifts or straight nights as assigned
- Travel nursing eligibility required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for ED boarder or overflow patient populations
- Familiarity with high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments
- Strong critical thinking and prioritization skills in dynamic care settings
