Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with a typical patient ratio of 1:6 on a unit ranging from 20 to 34 beds
- Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and apply dysrhythmia knowledge in daily patient management
- Float to any Medical Surgical unit as needed — willingness to float is required
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse electronic health records system
- Adhere to unit dress code (personal scrubs of any color) and participate in an 8-hour non-billable orientation period
- Maintain availability to work during assigned holiday blocks, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year periods as scheduled
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of current Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Telemetry experience required
- Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly required
- Active Massachusetts RN License — must be on file at time of submission
- Active American Heart Association BLS — must be in hand at time of submission; facility will not pend certifications
- Active American Heart Association ACLS — must be in hand at time of submission; facility will not pend certifications
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification — must be in hand at time of submission; facility will not pend certifications
- Must have own reliable personal vehicle for this assignment
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Meditech Expanse electronic health records system highly preferred
- Background in a teaching hospital or large acute care environment
