Job Title
Certified Nurse Aide – Long Term Care

Key Responsibilities
- Observe and report on a variety of physical and/or mental symptoms and conditions for a caseload of patients
- Implement care and treatment procedures including taking vital signs, measuring output, and recognizing abnormal signs and symptoms
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as eating/feeding, providing fluids, bathing, and dressing
- Support restorative care activities including use of assistive devices and range of motion exercises
- Assess each patient’s age-specific needs and independently provide age-specific direct personal care services
- Assist and participate in activities of the treatment team while adhering to infection control, universal precautions, and patient rights standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of work experience in a Long Term Care facility
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing skills, first aid, body mechanics, and basic medical and nursing terminology
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers must be obtained within six (6) months of employment
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand simple sentences in English and follow oral and written instructions precisely
- Ability to retain emotional stability under emotional and physical pressures and demonstrate respect toward patients with a variety of disabilities
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous work experience in Hawaii is a plus
- Knowledge of multiple and differing cultures
- Strong observation skills with the ability to accurately recall, report, and document a series of events
- Strong oral and written communication skills
