Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Full-Time | Days | 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM) | Rotational call coverage, which may include one call shift per week; weekend call is either Saturday or Sunday (not both), structured as a 24-hour call
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub independently for cardiovascular and open-heart surgical procedures
- Function as a core member of the cardiovascular heart team in the operating room
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, instruments, and supplies specific to CV procedures
- Participate in rotational on-call coverage, including potential weekend call shifts
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing staff to support safe and efficient surgical care
Required Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a cardiovascular or open-heart surgical setting
- Demonstrated ability to scrub independently for CV/heart team cases
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with a full range of cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Familiarity with call coverage expectations in a high-acuity OR environment
- Strong ability to adapt to rotating schedules and on-call demands
