Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to laboring patients throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases
- Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and maternal vital signs, identifying and responding to changes in patient condition
- Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, supporting physicians and midwives throughout the delivery process
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and oxytocin as ordered, following established protocols
- Educate patients and families on labor progression, delivery expectations, and newborn care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes for mother and baby
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois or compact license eligibility
- Current BLS certification required
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Prior experience in Labor and Delivery nursing
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with electronic fetal monitoring and interpretation
- Familiarity with high-risk obstetric patients and related interventions
- Experience working in a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit
