Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level
- Develop and prioritize patient problem lists in coordination with the inter-professional team, determining desired outcomes in alignment with the medical plan of care
- Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice; explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
- Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition; conduct and document ongoing assessments using the nursing process
- Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care provided by other team members
- Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, patient falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and documentation auditing
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- ADN or ASN degree required
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the care team
- Proficiency with or ability to be trained on relevant computer systems and applications
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a busy cardiac cath lab setting strongly preferred
- BSN degree preferred
- Previous nursing experience in a specialty or procedural environment
