Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to laboring patients and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum process
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring and other assessment tools
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to support safe delivery outcomes
- Administer medications and interventions as ordered, including IV therapy and epidural support coordination
- Document patient assessments, care plans, and interventions accurately in the electronic health record
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois or a compact state license
- Current BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Prior experience in Labor and Delivery nursing
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with electronic fetal monitoring and fetal strip interpretation
- Familiarity with high-risk obstetric patients and related protocols
- Previous travel or contract nursing experience
