Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Monitor and assess patients continuously using advanced medical equipment, including cardiac monitors and ventilators.
• Administer medications, fluids, and treatments accurately and timely according to physician orders.
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient status, treatments, and nursing interventions.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland or compact eligibility.
• Experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Intermediate Care (IMC) setting.
• Proficiency with advanced medical equipment including cardiac monitors and ventilators.
• Strong understanding of and adherence to infection control protocols.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience precepting or willingness to precept new staff.
• Demonstrated ability to provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
• Commitment to continuing education and staying current with IMC and PCU clinical practices.
