Job Title
GI Tech – Endoscopy
Location
Salem, MA | Outpatient Endoscopy
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM–3:45 PM with a rotating day of 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; department hours 6:30 AM–5:30 PM; on-call rotation for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with GI/endoscopy procedures across 8 procedural rooms handling a census of approximately 60–70 procedures per day
- Perform Olympus scope setup, handling, and reprocessing in accordance with facility protocols
- Support procedures including MAC and conscious sedation cases
- Maintain a 1:1 clinician-to-patient ratio in procedural rooms and 1:2–3 ratio in the PACU/recovery setting
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
- Participate in rotating shift coverage as needed within department operating hours
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a GI/Endoscopy Technician
- Proficiency in Olympus scope setup, handling, and reprocessing
- Ability to work with all patient populations
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Experience / Skills
- SGNA (Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates) certification preferred
- CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) certification preferred
- Prior experience working in a high-volume endoscopy unit
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR charting system
