Travel RN – CVOR / Surgery

Contract | 13 Weeks | Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for cardiovascular (open-heart) cases in the CVOR, with the ability to support the general OR as needed
- Utilize the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided using EPIC
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources
Required Qualifications
- Active RN License in the state of Texas or a compact state license
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum of two years of CVOR experience, including cardiovascular (open-heart) cases
- EPIC charting experience required
- Ability to support general OR cases as needed
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to offer
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience making appropriate assignments and delegating to other care providers in a clinical setting
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex or contingency-based clinical situations independently
