Hospital in the beautiful state of Kentucky in need of PCU/COVID Travel Nurses ASAP.

ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required as well as 2+ years of experience.

Previous travel experience strongly preferred.

This is a busy stepdown unit that receives patients from all over the facility and direct admissions from several local SNFs..

This unit serves a large geriatric population with acute and chronic disease states with multiple co-morbidities.

Pre/post cardiac cath patients treated on this unit.

Variety of pre/post intensive medical and surgical patients.

Pre-op open heart patients on this unit.

This currently is a COVID unit with a lower acuity of patients.

Required skills and minimum years of experience. 2 years of progressive care/stepdown, basic arrhythmia interpretation

Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Floating required by facility’s union contract to other med/surg departments

Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. 34

Nurse to patient ratio of this unit.1:4-5

Additional Comments: Candidates must be competent with the use of intravenous cardiac medications (dobutamine, dopamine, amiodarone, nicardipine, Natrecor/Primacor, Cardizem, Lasix/Albumin, heparin, and insulin). These medications are used on 3WT and 2S. Telemetry for all beds- monitored via central monitoring station.
